Blue Hope

This work is comprised of 154 pieces. Each piece was individually moulded and glazed. 

The work represents nature as impacted by climate change and environmental degradation. The delicacy of the individual pieces illustrates the fragility of the environment, while the collection of the pieces, suggests the relationship between different elements of our ecosystem; each playing an individual role, but functioning together to form harmony and beauty. 

 The pieces can be arranged in a variety of ways to produce different aesthetics. This arrangement was selected to represent the growth of reeds and nature below surpassing the overshadowing threats to the environment that bear down on it. Overall, the piece symbolises hope, even in the face of pressure.

Through the Keyhole. What can we see in a glimpse of a home?

Decor inside homes can be a reflection of the culture of a community. Small elements of architecture and design are often glimpses of an art that has been borrowed from ancient times. In the Middle East, the patterns and colours found in homes are inherited from our ancestors and the Islamic art that decorated their surroundings. This series combines these elements with wall hangings from world renowned artists, showing the evolution of art in the home.
